CAEN SyS has developed the VeryFuel system – supplied to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) as the Fast Neutron Collar (FNCL) – a purpose-built Non-Destructive Assay instrument that overcomes the limitations of legacy thermal-neutron collar systems when applied to modern fuel designs incorporating gadolinium-based burnable poison rods.
