The new French company brings together industrial expertise, nuclear research and AI capabilities to develop advanced measurement solutions for the nuclear sector.

CAEN SpA, CEA Investissement and Aineo have established CAEN Solutions Nucléaires, a new joint venture based in Paris dedicated to nuclear instrumentation. The company aims to meet the needs of French and European industry while pursuing international opportunities.

The partnership combines CAEN’s expertise in nuclear electronics and instrumentation with technologies developed at CEA and Aineo’s experience in nuclear measurement and artificial intelligence applied to measurement. Together, the partners aim to turn research innovations into practical industrial solutions and strengthen Europe’s technological capabilities in this strategic sector.

A key objective is to bring selected technologies developed at CEA, particularly at CEA-List, to industrial scale. Alongside this technology transfer, CAEN Solutions Nucléaires will provide high-performance, modular instrumentation solutions to industrial partners across the nuclear sector.

CAEN contributes its experience in the design and manufacture of high-voltage power supplies, digitizers, spectrometry and detection systems. This expertise will support the development of reliable, precise measurement tools for nuclear applications, connecting research capabilities with industrial requirements.

The launch comes as renewed nuclear programmes, new reactor projects and decommissioning activities drive demand for advanced instrumentation. Accurate measurement of particle flux, radiation and system performance is essential to the operation and safety of nuclear facilities.

Massimo Morichi, Executive Vice President of CAEN SpA, will serve as President of CAEN Solutions Nucléaires. The new company marks a further step in CAEN’s development in France and reinforces industrial cooperation between Italy and France.

With Europe as its initial priority and an international outlook, CAEN Solutions Nucléaires aims to become a key partner for the nuclear industry, helping bring the next generation of measurement technologies from research laboratories to industrial applications.
