The Enhanced Series VME crates provide a modular, high-reliability infrastructure for advanced data acquisition and control systems in nuclear and particle physics experiments. Designed around a fully serviceable architecture, these crates separate the subrack/backplane, power supply, ventilation/control unit and auxiliary modules into pluggable elements, enabling rapid maintenance, scalability and configuration flexibility.

Both VME8100 and VME8200 platforms support VME64/VME64X architectures with high-power programmable supplies (up to 2.5 kW) and intelligent cooling management. Integrated monitoring and control electronics enable real-time supervision of environmental and electrical parameters via multiple communication interfaces, while support for chained block transfers and multi-crate synchronization ensures seamless integration in large distributed acquisition systems. The design emphasizes safety, accessibility and long-term operational stability in demanding laboratory and accelerator environments.
