The Octal 32k Digital MCA family is designed for high-resolution multi-channel spectroscopy applications where a large number of detector channels must be processed simultaneously with excellent energy resolution and high throughput. Centered on the V1782 architecture, the platform integrates eight independent digital multichannel analyzers within a single VME module, combining advanced digital pulse processing (DPP), flexible gain configuration and high-performance baseline and pile-up management.
Optimized for semiconductor detectors such as segmented HPGe, Clover and silicon arrays, the system also supports scintillation detectors and transistor-reset preamplifiers through configurable dynamic ranges and AC coupling options. Each channel performs real-time energy extraction, timestamping and optional waveform capture, enabling coincidence/anticoincidence logic across detector segments for background rejection and anti-Compton techniques. Integrated firmware algorithms ensure stable operation at high count rates, while software tools and open libraries provide full control of acquisition, configuration and data analysis in both list-mode and spectrum-mode workflows.
