DiscoveRAD is a wearable radionuclide identifying device (RID) engineered for rapid field identification of radioactive materials in security, emergency response and border-control scenarios. The system integrates a high-efficiency scintillation detector with high-speed digital spectrometry and embedded analysis algorithms inside a rugged, ultra-compact enclosure suitable for continuous on-person operation. Designed to operate in complex radiological environments, DiscoveRAD delivers real-time isotope identification, dose assessment and threat classification even in the presence of mixed or shielded sources.
The device combines a wide dynamic energy range, high count-rate capability and advanced stabilization algorithms to ensure reliable operation across varying environmental conditions. Its integrated data logging, reach-back connectivity and compliance with RID standards make it suitable for coordinated radiological response workflows where rapid identification, traceability and remote expert support are required.
Wearable radionuclide identifying device with high-efficiency BGO detector and real-time isotope identification
Wide energy range and high throughput spectrometry suitable for mixed, shielded and masked sources, including SNM
Rugged IP-rated enclosure with lightweight, belt-worn form factor for continuous field deployment
Integrated data logging, spectrum analysis and reach-back connectivity with standard data formats
High-accuracy dose measurement, finder mode and configurable alarms for security and emergency response operations
All measurements are saved on the instrument (25 GB user storage capacity) and can easily be transferred without special software.
Its multiple interfaces and the built-in web interface allow easy and flexible reach-back operation. The interface also provides for secure remote maintenance and remote operation of the instrument.

The stabilization of the DiscoveRAD does not require any built-in source of LED. The novel patented stabilization is based on the measurement of the photon noise change and compensates gain shifts and temperature effects immediately and automatically. The main advantages of this new methodย are:
