The Control Software family includes a comprehensive suite of applications designed to configure, monitor and operate CAEN instrumentation across spectroscopy, power supply systems and data-acquisition platforms. These tools provide centralized management of device parameters, real-time monitoring and remote control through intuitive graphical interfaces or programmable APIs.
Control can be performed via USB, Ethernet, TCP/IP, RS485 or field-standard interfaces, enabling seamless integration into laboratory setups, experimental facilities and industrial environments. Advanced software solutions support multi-system operation, remote diagnostics, and automation workflows, allowing users to supervise large distributed systems such as high-voltage power supplies, spectroscopy amplifiers and modular DAQ electronics.
The ecosystem includes desktop applications, web-based interfaces and software libraries for custom development, ensuring interoperability with standard frameworks such as LabVIEW, EPICS and OPC. This modular approach enables flexible deployment ranging from standalone instrument control to large-scale integrated control architectures.

GEneral COntrol Software for CAEN HV Power Supplies
GECO2020 is the all new CAEN General Control SW for High Voltage Boards and Systems. GECO2020 brings the High Voltage control and management via external Host PC to an unprecedented level of easiness and compatibility. Thanks to its dashboard capability it allows simultaneous multi-systems control, even if different form factors are used (up to 4 SYx527’s and 20 Power Supply Boards).
HiVoCS Web based Control Software for SY4527 and SY5527 Systems
HiVoCS rel. 1.30 or above contains EPICS service that provides access to a Process Variable of the Power Supply System using the Channel Access Protocol. HiVoCS is a Web Interface available on any SY4527/SY5527/SY4527LC/SY5527LC CPU. This Interface can be accessed directly via browser without installing any additional software.
LabVIEW Driver (DT547x Modules) is a set of VIs developed to configure and monitor all the parameters of USB controlled CAEN DT547x USB-Powered Desktop HV Power Supply Family. All the VIs are described in detail in the DT574x User Manual. A Demo control SW developed using this tool can be downloaded from the website, as an example showing the capabilities of this set of VIs.
OPC Server
CAEN, in close collaboration with CERN, has developed an OPC server which allows powerful, flexible and yet simple control of its power supply systems by any OPC compliant client application. OPC (OLE for Process Control) is an open interface based on the OLE/COM and DCOM technology; OPC offers “Plug & Play” connectivity between disparate hardware devices.

N14xx NIM Power Supply Modules control can be performed remotely, via USB or RS485; the latter allows to build a N14XXs’ daisy chain network, with the first module connected to the PC USB port and the subsequent ones daisy chained via RS485. It is therefore possible to build a daisy chain of up to 32 N14xx’s (up to 128 channels). The CAEN NIM8301 Crate allows also to communicate with the first module in the chain also via Ethernet.
Control Software for VME Power Supply Modules
V65XX Controller – Control Software for VME Power Supply Modules is a console application that allows a complete and friendly management of a single CAEN VME High Voltage Power Supply board (V65XX series), controlled via CAEN VME Bridges. V65XX Controller is a C++ Program and supports Linux and Windows.
HERA (Handy Educational Radiation Application) is a modern and flexible platform for teaching the fundamentals of Statistics, Particles Detection, and Nuclear Imaging thanks to the simple graphical interfaces and the embedded documentation.
