EASY3000 Remote Crates provide a smart and distributed approach to power delivery, combining modularity, proximity to detectors, and full remote control within a unified EASY power architecture. Developed from CAEN’s long experience with LHC experiments, these crates are engineered to operate reliably in harsh environments with significant radiation levels and magnetic fields, while still delivering excellent performance in standard laboratory conditions.
Designed to host EASY3000 HV, LV, and ADC boards, the crates distribute power, control, and monitoring signals and are managed through the A1676A Branch Controller, fully integrating with SY1527/SY2527 systems. Powered by external 48 V supplies (separate lines for channel power and service logic), they support scalable configurations up to 10 boards per crate and up to 3 kW output power. Different mechanical variants (rear or front power connections) allow flexible installation close to the load, reducing cable losses and improving overall system efficiency. Cooling can be provided via air or water intercoolers, with optional fan units for stand-alone operation outside magnetic fields. With patented radiation- and magnetic-field-tolerant technologies, EASY3000 Remote Crates form a key building block of robust, high-performance detector power infrastructures.
